Vigor2820n 為一台雙 WAN口之 ADSL2+ 路由器，第二個 WAN 口可以連接 DSL/Cable 數據機或是光纖媒體轉換器，提供條件式規則負載平衡、斷線備援與隨選頻寬功能，另外它還提供進階頻寬管理機制諸如 QoS、連線數的控制、頻寬互借等等，讓用戶更易上手。

VPN 防火牆應用

Vigor2820Vn 支援 32 條 VPN 通道並使用 IPSec / PPTP / L2TP / L2TP over IPSec with AES / DES / 3DES 協定加密資料，利用MD5 / SHA-1 驗證資料。

SPI 防火牆的物件式設計，使得防火牆功能設定更加容易，而 CSM 功能的 URL / 網頁過濾、IM 及 P2P 應用設定則讓用戶能更精準更有效的執行網路存取動作。

無線應用

Vigor2820Vn 符合 IEEE802.11n 標準，支援 WEP / WPA / WPA2 加密以及 MAC 位址控制、無線區域網路隔離、多重SSID 以及 802.1x 驗證等等。無線流量控制功能可調整資料傳輸至無線用戶端的速率， WDS 功能可幫助用戶擴充無線覆蓋範圍。

VoIP 應用

Vigor2820Vn 提供二個類比電話孔以及一個線路連接埠，可同時支援數個 SIP，設定容易操作方便。

FXS 與 Line 連接埠之數字對應設定優點

您可連接一般的類比線路 (PSTN/POTS*) 至 Vigor2820Vn 的 Line 連接埠上，當您啟用 VoIP 功能時，您可撥打 #0 以使用固定線路(類比線路)，連接到 Line 及 FXS 連接埠的話機可以用來撥打 POTS 及 VoIP 電話，因為所有的來電都會自動切換至相應之話機上。結果，與路由器相連的類比電話即可讓您使用 VoIP 和類比線路，再者，您可以設定數字對應設定功能，讓一些特殊電話可指定使用 SIP / VoIP 服務或是 POTS 線路，例如，鑒於國際電話撥打者可能透過您喜愛的 VoIP 供應商撥打電話給您，您即可以透過 PSTN 線路由本機電話，設定多個數字對應可讓 VoIP 電話更便利，同時費用更節省。

Vigor2820 系列的數位內容安全管理 (CSM)功能可封鎖選定的點對點 (P2P) 及即時通訊 (IM) 之應用。不但可幫助員工專注其工作，還能防止這些應用可能內藏病毒，造成公司資料伺服器損害等威脅。
